Plane Fun 2003 Aircraft Judging

I would like to extend my thanks to the people who helped make Plane Fun 2003 aircraft registration, judging and the raffle a success.

Kevin Taylor, his wife Becky and their children helped me all day Saturday and Mike Whitescarver helped all day Sunday.

The chapter owes Russ Grycza a special THANK YOU for doing such a fantastic job acquiring and managing the PA system. Although, some may think it was too loud, I believe that is much better than a crummy sounding system or worse, none at all! Thanks Russ.

Russ and Eryk Grycza where instrumental in the success of the raffle with the announcement of all the winning numbers on both days. And we wouldn’t have been as successful as we were without the help of everyone who sold tickets, including Cindy and Phil Guest, Dan Wiese, Ron Smolinski, Fred Shiple and anyone else I’ve forgot to mention.

This was the first time we had aircraft judging at our fly-in (to my knowledge) and although we had a shortage of transient aircraft that wanted to be judged, only 12 out of a total of 29 registered, I think it went OK. We also had "Peoples Choice" judging event and even though we offered $5.00 worth of free raffle tickets for a returned ballot I only received a total of 33 for both days. The chapter will have to evaluate the idea (and value) of judging aircraft during the next fly-in.

The Plane Fun 2003 Award winners are as follows.

Award Pilot's Name Aircraft

A SPECIAL THANKS goes to the following members who judged aircraft.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped with registration, judging and the raffle!

Sincerely,

Tony Kirk
