    For those of us who were fortunate enough to know Arthur Jibilian, Mim Bizic is an advocate preserving the great deed that Draza Mihailovic' did to help save the 500 US airman who bailed from their B17's after being shot down while bombing the German oil fields. She has been instrumental in reconizing the contributions of both the Serbian and American men ans woman who played a part in the safe rescue of that mission. She frequently keeps me informed of what's happening in the lives of those patriots. Here is a recent post she left for Chapter 582;

    Just so you know, yesterday I sang the praises of the EAA Chapter #582 at a talk I gave to a chapter of the Philanthropic Education Organization when I talked about OPERATION HALYARD and General Draza Mihailovich, what the EAA did to have +Arthur Jibilian, radio operator hero of that operation, recognized on December 7, 2008 at the National Guard Headquarters in Toledo, OH. Carl Walpusk (age 90!), one of the few remaining 512 rescued airmen, was there with me, and made the ladies laugh explaining how I got into the airplane when we traveled to Ypisilanti, Michigan, thanks to the EAA's efforts. Our pilot was Dennis! I sure needed help getting onto that wing and them plopped into the back seat! One of my FAVORITE never-to-be-forgotten memories of that day was when +Clare Musgrave, retired teacher and another of the rescued U.S. airmen, waved to us with such a big smile from his little EAA Chapter airplane next to us..... It was the last time I saw him before he passed away. Because of Gregory Freeman's book, THE FORGOTTEN 500, he will NOT be forgotten! Thank you again, EAA#582!
